Reading cap ring for telescope

Eschenbach's wide-angle monocular 2X Galilean Telescope can now incorporate customizable reading cap lenses with its new Reading Cap Ring. If you want to view objects close up through the telescope with a near prescription, just snap on the Ring (#1623-01). It's designed to hold a customized near prescription lens (34 mm in diameter) that, when lowered over the telescope, allows you to view near objects. Just flip the lens out of the way when viewing distant objects.

New lens materials from Hoya

Hoya announced that its Summit cd short corridor progressive addition lens is now available in Hoya Phoenix (Trivex) and Phoenix Transitions materials. The clear and photochromic lens materials mean that patients will now be able to purchase the Summit cd in a thin and lightweight high-impact lens material, the company says.

Summit cd in Phoenix will be available in power range of ­10.00 to +6.00, add powers (+0.75 to +3.50). Phoenix Transitions is available in power range ­10.00 to +6.00, add powers (+1.00 to +3.00).

Semi-rimless sunglass

Izod says that its new Izod 718 sunglass offers great fashion with functional value. The semi-rimless metal alloy design features a sporty 8-base lens shape with the Izod logo on the temples. It's available in brown, gunmetal, navy blue and pewter; each of the lens colors has a flash mirror coating. The new lenses, made of a durable polycarbonate from SOLA, also diminish glare and provide a fuller range of coverage with 100% ultraviolet protection.

For added comfort, Izod has included soft, rolled PVC nosepads with a "snap in" feature that make them easy to work.
