■ The OPTI-FREE PureMoist Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution, from Alcon, Inc., contains the HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix wetting agent, which can provide 16 hours of lens wettability, the company says. HydraGlyde embeds itself on and within the lens surface, enabling it to remove protein deposits, decrease lipid deposition and, therefore, facilitate comfort, Alcon, Inc. says. Other features: the dual disinfectant system Polyquad and Aldox with edetate disodium, a chelating agent that assists in the disinfection process, the company says.

Lid disease treatment kit
■ The Ocudox Convenience Kit, from OCuSOFT Inc., is a prescription-only acute lid disease treatment kit. It contains 30 OCuSOFT Lid Scrub PLUS Extra Strength Pre-Moistened Pads, Tears Again Advanced Liposome Spray (15mL) to soothe and relieve irritated eyelids, and 60 Ocudox (doxycycline hyclate 50mg) capsules, though you can opt for Alodox (doxycycline hyclate 20mg), should the patient have a chronic condition requiring longer-term therapy.
The Ocudox Convenience Kit contains lid scrub pads, spray and medication for those who suffer from acute lid disease.

Customizable computer lens
■ The iZon eFocus computer lens, from Ophthonix, Inc., is a custom ophthalmic progressive lens whose intermediate prescription is customized to the precise distance a patient sits from their computer screen. The result: clear, crisp and comfortable vision throughout the day, the company says. The lens utilizes three zones: a large intermediate zone for optimal computer use, a fully usable reading zone and small distance zone. The lens is available in thin, lightweight 1.6 index and impact-resistant polycarbonate materials.

Portable imager
■ The Pictor portable imaging instrument, from Volk Optical, provides high-resolution images and video. It includes two modules: the retinal module, which provides a 45° fundus field-of-view via the non-mydriatic method on 3mm pupils, and the Anterior module, which images surface parts of the eye and has a series of cobalt blue LEDs for fluorescent imaging. The device's JPEG images are compatible with most major imaging software programs and adaptable to any patient database system, the company says.
