Multifocal contact lens
■ The C-Vue HydraVUE Multifocal contact lens, from Unilens Vision Inc., is a monthly replacement lens made of silicone hydrogel material, which offers high oxygen transmissibility, the company says. The lens is available in power ranges from +6.00D to −10.00D and is designed to correct vision among presbyopic patients while eliminating the need for bifocal or reading glasses, the company says. Also, the company also provides a display cabinet and trial program with a 120-day performance guarantee on the lenses.

Hybrid contact lens
■ UltraHealth, from SynergEyes, Inc., is a hybrid contact lens intended for patients who have irregular corneas, including emerging to mid-stage and advanced keratoconus, central, oval and decentered cones and corneal ectasia. The lens has a reverse geometry design that creates a central area of vault, which is available in several vault heights to assure corneal clearance. The silicone hydrogel skirt is available in three curves (flat, medium, steep) for centration and patient comfort.

Illuminated magnifier
■ The Visolux+, from Eschenbach, is an LED-illuminated stand magnifier features a large, distortion-free viewing area. Its double lens system that features a patented hard coating to minimize scratches and extend the life of the product, the company says. The field of view is a full 100mm × 75mm or 4 inches × 3 inches. The VisoLux+ comes with two color options depending on environment and need: standard bright, white light and a softer orange light that can be used by sliding the built-in filter over the LEDs.

Video centration system
■ The visuReal Portable, from AIT Industries, is a video centration system that attaches to an iPad. This measurement system works in conjunction with a calibration tool that sits on the patient’s frame to determine centration values including pupillary distance, fitting heights, boxing dimensions, head rotation and inclination. The visuReal Portable takes photos and movies to show patients with high prescriptions who cannot see themselves wearing trial lenses, which are uploaded to a cloud for later viewing. Cloud computing instantly computes measurements, which can be e-mailed or stored online.
