ZEISS Medical Technology’s AngioPlex OCT Angiography received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance to provide non-invasive 3D images of blood flow in the eye to help eye care professionals detect retinal diseases. It is available on the CIRRUS 5000 HD OCT platform.

SPECTACLE LENSES
Eyezen lenses, by Essilor, combat eyestrain and reduce exposure to blue light, the company says. They come in three designs, Eyezen 1, for patients ages 20 to 34, Eyezen 2, for patients ages 35 to 44 and Eyezen 3, for patients ages 45 and older. Essilor expects to launch a frame collection along with the lenses in coming months.

SPORTS VISION BOOK
Dr. Donald Teig has published “High Performance Vision,” a book about improving vision for athletes. It is available from Square One Publishers or from Amazon. Dr. Teig is the executive director of The A Team — High Vision Performance Associates, a national group of sports-trained eye care professionals. He is also past chairman of the sports vision section of the AOA.
