CooperVision Inc. has announced the availability of its Biofinity toric multifocal contact lenses. Initial shipments have begun with nationwide availability expected next month (May).

The lens combines Optimized Toric Lens Geometry, an optimized ballast band design, a large toric optical zone and a smooth continuous surface and Balanced Progressive Technology, which offers multiple zones of vision correction, allowing for vision at near, far and in between distances, and is optimized for each sphere and add power, with the option of fitting a center distance or center near lens.

Biofinity toric multifocal lenses are available in sphere powers from +10.00 D to –10.00 D (0.50 D steps after ±6.00 D), with cylinder powers from –0.75 D to –5.75 D (0.50 D steps), axes of 5º to 180º in 5º steps, and add powers of +1.00 D, +1.50 D, +2.00 D, and +2.50 D. OM
