Announced during Vision Expo East, CooperVision unveiled the “Make Children’s Sight Your Fight” initiative, a new campaign to protect children’s vision and advance myopia control education in the United States.
According to a company press release, data from the eye care professional industry shows 65% of children aged 8-12 years who have myopia have a prescription between -0.50 D and -2.00 D. With this information, “CooperVision sees an opportunity to impact the lives of children in that age range with early intervention that can prevent the worsening of the disease.”
CooperVision plans to increase media advertising and raise awareness of the MiSight 1 day, the company’s soft contact lens for myopia control in children.
