Nutritional supplement for dry eye disease
Bausch + Lomb will release Blink NutriTears, a nutritional supplement to assist with dry eye disease. Blink NutriTears features a proprietary blend of lutein, zeaxanthin isomers, curcumin and vitamin D3, in the third quarter of 2024. In a recent study evaluating the efficacy and safety of Blink NutriTears, the supplement met both its primary endpoints for changes in tear production and changes in ocular symptoms measured by OSDI score. Scleral lens for patients with advanced conditions
Bausch + Lomb announced the U.S. release of its Zenlens ECHO scleral lenses. The lenses are a non-prosthetic, custom technology designed to fit a wide variety of corneal shapes and sizes, including advanced ocular conditions, such as corneal degeneration and certain postoperative conditions. Slit lamp 3D imaging module
Haag-Streit released a new addition for its Imaging Module 910: The Imaging Module 910 3D records 3D content, including videos and images. The inclusion of depth information in the visual representation, according to the company, is meant to enhance clarity and interpretability of the images. More information can be found here.
Tonometer with new positioning system
Reichert announced the availability of the Tono-Vera tonometer. The Tono-Vera is a rebound tonometer that uses Reichert’s ActiveView Positioning System, which guides the user to the apex of the cornea to provide more accuracy in IOP readings. When correct alignment is achieved, Tono-Vera automatically measures IOP. For more information, click here.
