Practice Tip: Practices interested in improving their ability to detect early glaucoma progression might want to consider investing in OCT-Angiography (OCT-A) devices. According to Drs. Jenna Pyle and Scot Morris, “several studies have determined that OCT-A allows clinicians to see early changes indicating [glaucoma] progression prior to any functional changes…Using OCT-A in the setting of glaucoma could allow clinicians to initiate treatment earlier in order to decrease the likelihood of any functional loss of vision by the patient.” For additional information, visit https://www.optometricmanagement.com/issues/2022/june-2022/know-the-many-functions-of-oct-a.
