Bausch + Lomb Contact Lens Rehydrating Drops Get FDA 510(k) Clearance
Bausch + Lomb announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for Biotrue Hydration Boost Contact Lens Rehydrating drops, a preservative-free multi-dose rehydrating drop for use with soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. The drops contain hyaluronan, a moisturizer found naturally in the eye, among other naturally inspired ingredients, and they match the pH of healthy tears for comfort, according to the press release.

CooperVision Appoints Clinical Research Fellow; Announces Promotion
CooperVision named Kathryn Richdale, OD, PhD, as a clinical research fellow who will work across multiple areas of CooperVision’s clinical affairs on projects related to European Union Medical Device Regulation and the ongoing MiSight 1 Day clinical studies in countries around the world. Eyenovia Receives FDA Acceptance of New Drug Application for Pupil Dilation Drug
Eyenovia, Inc. announced that the FDA accepted for review the company’s New Drug Application for its MydCombi ophthalmic spray. MydCombi is a drug-device combination of tropicamide and phenylephrine for in-office pupil dilation, administered via the company’s investigational Optejet drug-delivery technology. The FDA assigned the resubmitted NDA a standard review with a Prescription Drug User Fee Act target action date of May 8, 2023, and indicated it is currently not planning an advisory committee meeting to discuss the application, according to a press release. In other news, Eyenovia Inc. promoted Bren Kern to COO and corporate vice president, effective Jan. 1. 2023. He currently serves as senior vice president of manufacturing and operations.

TearCare System Performs Favorably in Independent Review
An independent report shows that TearCare, from Sight Sciences Inc., was shown effective in treating dry eye disease. The retrospective, investigator-initiated trial reviewed clinical outcomes for patients treated with the TearCare system at least 12 months prior to data collection.
