American Academy of Optometry announces registration open for Retina & Glaucoma Collaborative Summit
Registration for the 2024 Retina & Glaucoma Collaborative Summit is now open. The Summit will occur in Louisville, Ky, from May 31 to June 1 where attendees can expect 10 hours of CE, including courses on the management of diabetic retinopathy, conversations surrounding AMD, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and more. Prevent Blindness offers resources for safe viewing of eclipse
The next total solar eclipse will occur on April 8. With its path of totality passing through states from Texas to Vermont (see map), and a partial eclipse visible throughout the continental United States, Prevent Blindness offers the Eclipse + Your Eyes program. The program provides a variety of free resources to help educate the public on the importance of eye protection and eye safety while viewing the eclipse. Click here.
Safilo sustainability targets receive validation
Safilo Group announced that its near-term science-based targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), which promotes ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling organizations to set science-based emissions reduction targets, according to a press release.
Valley Contax offers student travel grant for 2024 American Optometric Association meeting
Valley Contax, Inc, in partnership with Contamac US, is offering a student travel grant to Optometry’s Meeting, in Nashville, June 19 to June 22. Specifically, one student in the graduating classes of either 2025 or 2026 will be selected based on a 100-word submission about why they chose optometry as their career.
