Avulux announced in a press release the forthcoming launch of Avulux Adapt photochromic lenses and Avulux Atlas polarized lenses, which expand its portfolio of lenses for patients with migraines.
The Avulux Adapt photochromic lenses are designed to adjust to varying light conditions. When exposed to ultraviolet light outside, photochromic molecules within the lenses activate and darken them. The lenses return to a clear state when indoors. Avulux Atlas polarized lenses reduce outdoor glare, squinting, and visual fatigue by blocking reflected light from surfaces such as water, roads, snow, and glass.
The company stated in the press release that these additions are intended to create a comprehensive indoor/outdoor lens option that eyecare providers can offer to patients. All products in the portfolio are engineered to filter blue, amber, and red light wavelengths that are associated with migraines, but allow transmission of green light, which has a soothing effect, the company said.
