The American Academy of Optometry has opened registration for its 2026 Myopia Summit, a 1-day educational program focused on evidence-based approaches to myopia management. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at the Marriott St. Louis Grand in St. Louis, Missouri.
According to the press release, the summit will offer 6.5 hours of 4 COPE-accredited continuing education sessions led by Academy Fellows Erin Tomiyama, OD, PhD, FAAO, and Ashley Wallace-Tucker, OD, FAAO, on foundational concepts and clinical application. Topics include the global prevalence of myopia and the importance of early intervention, evaluation of current and emerging treatment strategies, and practical guidance for integrating myopia control into clinical workflows. Attendees will also receive instruction on patient communication and the development of in-practice myopia management programs.
The curriculum is designed to address the progression of myopia management from theory to practice, as well as provide clinicians with actionable, research-driven strategies that can be implemented in practice immediately following the event, the Academy said in the announcement.
The meeting will include opportunities for networking with peers and engagement with industry partners, along with meals and a closing reception. A list of participating companies is expected to be released online ahead of the event.
Registration fees are set at $299 for Academy members and $399 for nonmembers. Additional program details and registration information are available through the Academy’s website.
