Corning offers new design
Corning's lens materials are now available in various designs:
- Corning Thin & Dark lens material is available in the Piccolo design from Shamir, and in the Fashion Fit design from X-Cel optical.
- Corning SunSensors lens material is available in a progressive design from Polycore Optical, and in the Kodak and Kodak Concise designs from Signet-Armorlite.
- Corning Clear 16 is available in the Outlook progressive from Vision-Ease, and in bifocals from X-Cel Optical.
- Also, the Corning PhotoBronze 16 lens is available in the Varilux Panamic progressive design.
- The Corning PhotoBronze 16 lens is a new, high-index glass photochromic lens, which is a 1.6 high index photochromic that provides a thin profile. The PhotoBronze 16 lens is virtually clear indoors and darkens to a bronze color when outdoors. It has the same scratch resistance found in other Corning lenses.

OSI to offer new toric lens
Ocular Sciences, Inc. is launching a disposable contact lens, the new Biomedics Toric.

The Biomedics Toric features a wide ballast band and a smooth, continuous surface. It has a diameter of 14.5 mm, a base curve of 8.7 mm and a toric mark at six o'clock. Ocular Sciences is packaging the new Biomedics Toric in six individual blister packs per box.

New options for lenses
Speaking of Corning, its SunSensors lenses have been added to Vision-Ease Lens' Outlook plastic product line. As you already know, Corning SunSensors is a 1.56 index hard resin, progressive photochro-mic lens.
Vision-Ease Lens offers Corning SunSensors in true gray or warm brown finished single vision, semi-finished single vision, bifocals, trifocals and now in the Outlook progressive as well.

Indirect ophthalmoscope
Keeler Instruments has now upgraded its All Pupil Indirect Ophthalmoscope.

Keeler's All Pupil II Indirect Ophthalmoscope is lightweight, and can give you more than 2000 lux of illumination.
According to the company, "The All Pupil II is ideal for penetrating small or undilated pupils. It features an increased pupillary distance range extending from 47 mm to 75 mm to accommodate virtually any user. And a new padded headband provides extra comfort."
The All Pupil II is available with a portable power source or a standard wall-mountable transformer. A variety of carrying cases is available, too.

Essilor and Nikon
Essilor Lenses now offers the Nikon Performance Package.
The Nikon Performance Package features lenses that are anti-reflective, scratch resistant, plus thin and light. The Package comes in single vision and in three progressive lenses: Varilux Panamic, Varilux Comfort and Essilor Natural. The lenses are available from +6.00 to -8.00, cylinder -3.00.

Pediatric photoscreener
Marco Ophthalmic introduces the Marco PhotoScreener, a pediatric camera designed to detect vision disorders in young and preverbal children.
Marco's new instrument screens for conditions that can lead to amblyopia, including all refractive errors, strabismus, media opacities and ptosis. As you know, you can treat these conditions more easily if they're detected early in life.
The PhotoScreener works by utilizing photo refraction. For the sake of accuracy, the PhotoScreener features a focusing system and a flashing fixation light. Its results are produced instantaneously on high-speed Polaroid film.

Easyloupes
Oculus introduces Easyloupes, which are sophisticated magnifying glasses. Oculus says Easyloupes are made with "high-quality, coated optics to ensure high resolution and color authenticity."
Easyloupes feature a light, ergonomic-shaped frame, which prevents strain even during long periods of wear. You can make convergence and pupil convergence adjustments in just one step, while wide, ocular exits make for easy binocular viewing and a bright image. The Easyloupes come in a working distance of 40 cm.
Oculus provides a carrying case and a cleaning cloth for the Easyloupes.
