Magnified Vision
Eschenbach is now offering Keeler Instrument's NuVision, a device that provides head-mounted video magnification. Patients wear NuVision just like a pair of glasses. It projects an enlarged image onto two LCD screens in front of the eyes, providing near magnification up to 10X and distance magnification up to 5X.
The NuVision weighs only 6 ounces and comes in color, black-and-white and reverse-polarity modes. Patients can connect the device to a television, computer, digital camera or other electronic device.
Eschenbach has also added fall dates to "Low Vision Care . . . What's It All About?" a hands-on workshop and lecture approved for three continuing education credits by the American Board of Opticianry and the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
Dates and locations include: Oct. 23: Houston; Oct. 30: Des Plaines, Ill. and Athens, Ga.; Nov. 5: Ft. Myers, Fla.; Nov. 6: Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Phoenix; and Nov. 20: Naperville, Ill. and San Antonio.
