Choose your interface
K Crowell Systems announced that it will release Medformix software equipment in early 2006. The new version features Multiple User Interface (MUI), which allows the user to choose from three types of interfaces. The choices are:
A Windows or Graphic User Interface
A Web browser (enables use on a wider range of computers, including Macintosh), or
A Character-based interface (for use with keyboard).
MUI enables the user to switch back and forth between the interfaces he or she wishes to employ, limited only by the workstation's capabilities. All three interfaces will work simultaneously.

New multifocal contact lens
K CooperVision added the UltraVue PC Multifocal Toric contact lens to its collection of multifocal contact lenses. Made of the company's patented omafilcon A phosphoryl- choline (PC) material, the lens utilizes CooperVision's PC Technology. This creates a biocompatible material that allows the eye to accept the lens more quickly, CooperVision claims. The UltraVue product line offers expanded parameters and multiple base curves.
The lens uses Balanced Progressive Technology, a multifocal system that maximizes binocular visual acuity at all ranges, the company says.
