Corneal scleral gas permeable contact lens

K The Comfort XL corneal scleral gas permeable (GP) contact lens, from Valley Contax, is for practi-tioners with patients who have reported GP fitting problems wearing soft-toric or GP lenses. The lens has a large diameter (11mm) that centers well to help these patients, the company says.

The lens comes in 10- or 14-lens expanded diagnostic fitting sets ranging from 38.00D to 51.00D in 0.10D steps. The base curves vary depending on the specific patient, as does the lens power.

ECN provides patients with information on eye care and ophthalmic products, with the option to add patient education programs, such as EyeMaginations and Ocutouch, to the content. The program also in-cludes real-time news from the Unit-ed Press International (UPI), as well as a five-day forecast that includes the UV-index from Accuweather, among other content options.

Vistana collection of OverRx polarized sunwear

■ The Vistana collection, from Live Eyewear, is the latest addition to the company’s line of polarized sunglasses that slip over existing pre-scription spectacles.

The collection features frame designs that assimilate the company’s patented scratch-resistant gray or copper “Polare” polarized lenses, which include Dynamic Base Technology (DBT) to rid the side-shields traditionally seen with over-prescription sunwear.
