Parameter expansion

■ The Avaira contact lens, from CooperVision, has expanded its parameters from -0.25D to -12.00D (in 0.50D steps above -6.00D) to include +0.25D to +8.00D on an 8.4mm base curve. This means the parameter range extends from -12.00D to +8.00D. The enfilcon A daily wear, two-week replacement lens boasts an aberration-neutralizing system and the company's Aqua-form technology. It also features an 8.4mm and 8.5mm base curve; a 14.2mm diameter; a 0.5MPa modulus; a DK/T of 125; a DK of 100; a 46% water content and UV blockage. The lens comes in a six-lens pack or a three-lens trial carton.

USB memory frame

■ The unisex ck Calvin Klein USB Memory frame sun styles, from Marchon Eyewear, contain a 4GB USB port located in the right temple for convenient data transport (e.g. music, photos, media clips, etc.). Ck 3083s-usb, a modified rectangle shape, comes in black, dark Havana (cream) and light Havana, and ck3084s-usb, a large rectangle shape, comes in black, dark Havana and pearl. Both styles include the “ck” logo on their metal temple plaques and a carrying case.

Frame displays

■ Slimline, from Eye Designs, are low profile, non-illuminated frame displays that are ideal for practices that have limited space and/or low budgets. Visual fatigue syndrome lenses

■ The Essilor Visual Fatigue Solutions lens line, from Essilor of America, Inc., addresses Visual Fatigue Syndrome (VFS) symptoms, such as headaches. Essilor Anti-Fatigue is for myopes and emerging presbyopes. These lenses have a “Power Boost” in their lower portion that provides clarity and comfort for extended periods of up-close focusing. The company recommends Essilor Computer, which boast a large intermediate area, as a complement pair to the presbyopic wearer's primary progressive lens pair.
