The device provides magnification from 3-to-21X with continuous zoom, offers three viewing modes (color, black on white and white on black) and a control panel with five buttons. The Presto Lite includes a monitor, camera and reading table all connected together, weighs 15 lbs. and folds to a compact size for storing or shipping.

Progressive lens

The iDapt Progressive Lens, from iZon, was created with a design that reduces the period of adaptation for patients who wear progressive lenses, the company says. According to a recent masked-wearer study, 78% of previous progressive lens users said they easily adapted to the iDapt lens within a day, while the company says the lens' characteristics are also favorable to patients who are new to progressive lenses. The iDapt lenses feature ViZera anti-reflective coating, which is now standard for all iZon lenses.

Computer reading glasses

Relief Tint computer clip-on reading glasses, from Tech Optics International, were developed with the aim of controlling and reducing Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). To protect the eyes from CVS, the glasses reduce the amount of high-energy visible light (violet and blue), contrasting in vision while preserving true color perception, the company says. This is meant to lessen the risk of macular degeneration to the retina. The glasses also feature UV protection, aspheric lenses, anti-reflective coating and are scratch resistant.

Vision screening system

FirstTest, from M&S Technologies, is a computerized vision screening system designed to identify potential eye disorders and conforms to Pediatric and Ophthalmic Professional Association vision screening guidelines. The user selects letters or symbols, type of test, and patient age to begin the screening, which takes an average of two minutes, the company says. FirstTest can operate on any PC running Windows XP or Windows 7, as well as M&S Smart System All-in-One units.
