■ AcuFocus’ KAMRA inlay has received FDA approval to improve near vision in patients who have emmetropic refractions (+0.50 D to -0.75 D) via extending depth of focus.

■ Alcon’s AcrySof IQ ReSTOR +2.5D IOL has received FDA approval for patients desiring simultaneous near, intermediate and distance vision.

■ The New Drug Application for Lifitegrast (Shire), a small-molecule integrin inhibitor for the treatment of dry eye disease in adults, has been accepted by the FDA and granted a Priority Review designation.
