Pierre Pitance, who led Precilens as CEO since 2004, died suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 54 years old. Mr. Pitance was a well-respected optical pioneer and business leader, as well as a warm, friendly man with an entrepreneurial soul, according to those who knew him.

“Pierre never failed to take care of the people he loved, and his optometry family benefitted greatly from his generosity,” says Brooke Messer, O.D. “The many patients and practitioners familiar with Precilens’ designs are proof of the commitment to his passion.” He leaves behind his wife Christel and four children.
