CooperVision recognized its 2020 Best Practices with a virtual roundtable discussion with industry media on Aug. 4. The Best Practices program recognizes eye care professionals of innovative practices who demonstrate a dedication to patient care and community service.
Attending honorees included Dave Anderson, O.D., of Miamisburg Vision Care in Miamisburg, Ohio; Amanda Barker, O.D., of Advanced Family Eye Care in Denver, N.C.; Lee Ann Hoven, O.D., of Advanced Eyecare in Durango, Colo.; Faheem Inayatali, O.D., of Eye Center of Houston, in Houston, Texas; Mark Kapperman, O.D., and Troy White, O.D., of Kapperman, White and McGarvey in Chattanooga, Tenn.; Paul Lin, O.D., of Valencia Eyecare Optometry in Palmdale, Calif.; and Jennifer Zolman, O.D., of Draisin Vision Group in Charleston, S.C. Honorees shared how to be a successful practice owner, particularly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Being closed, that gave us a chance to dive a little bit more into [new services and technologies],” says Dr. Zolman. “…We’re bringing in new Neurolens, MiSight. That’s going to, hopefully, help us ramp up financially, so we can put some backup into place if we do have to close down.”
