The Vision Council’s consumer education initiative, Vision Health Alliance, which joined forces with EyeCare4Kids (a nonprofit that provides eye care to low-income, visually impaired children and underserved families), made an impact during Vision Expo West 2021, held in Las Vegas in late September.
Specifically, the Vision Health Alliance worked with EyeCare4Kids and their mobile eye clinic to provide eye exams at a local, Las Vegas-area elementary school; put together 600 emergency eye care kits at its Vision Expo West booth; and hosted a panel discussion at the Event’s “The Seen” main stage about the importance of early access to routine, comprehensive eye exams as part of a child’s developmental and educational success.
The Vision Health Alliance, launched in 2021, is supported by eye care industry members, including Alcon, Eschenbach, EssilorLuxottica, EyeMart Express, HEA-PECAA, HilcoVision, MyEyeDr and Shopko Optical. For additional information, see https://visionhealthalliance.org . OM
