- Euclid Vision released MyEuclid, its interactive, web-based customer portal designed to improve practice efficiency and optimize Euclid Ortho-K fits. The MyEuclid portal was released on a limited basis earlier this year, and the platform is now available to Euclid’s U.S. customers.

Haag-Streit will work with Hoot to co-produce educational digital content and myopia specific workflows and integrate it into the Hoot ecosystem.
- Hoya Vision Care launched new global myopia education and marketing campaign “Myopia Care for Kids” to raise awareness about the global rise of myopia in children, which commonly begins in ages 6-14, and to provide information about Hoya’s MiYOSMART spectacle lens, developed to slow myopia progression in children ages 8-13.
- IDOC launched two resources for eye care professionals: the “Eye Own a Business” podcast and the “IDOC Optometric Specialty Community” on Facebook. The podcast teaches ODs how to grow a thriving practice and is hosted by Dr. Steve Vargo, who write’s Optometric Management’s “CEO Challenge” column. - The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) launched the 2022 Love Your Eyes global campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the socio-economic importance of eye health. The IAPB is calling on government and industry leaders to focus on three key areas: the provision of more accessible eye care, making sight tests available to more people, and ensuring that glasses are affordable for those who need them. - A meta-analysis of studies in Ophthalmology among children found that vision impairment is associated with greater symptoms of depression and anxiety. - A new paper published in Optometry & Vision Science shared information on trends and observations surrounding the current state of the U.S. orthokeratology market. Among the responses of the more than 500 U.S. eye care professionals surveyed, 56% of respondents actively fitting orthokeratology lenses anticipate market growth within the next 12 months, and 46% not currently fitting orthokeratology lenses plan to start prescribing in the next two years. - Vision Expo West will feature the return of the Career Zone-Student Lounge when the convention is held in Las Vegas this September. - Visioneering Technologies shared data from a 6-year study on myopia progression; the study, published in “Clinical Ophthalmology,” was conducted to measure the effect of the company’s NaturalVue Multifocal 1 Day Contact Lenses on children with myopia, or near-sightedness.
