Lensometry You Can't Live Without
Quick, compact and easy to use. See what else this autolensmeter offers.
Gregg Ossip, O.D.
One of the toughest issues involved in running an optometric practice is finding experienced staff. I prefer to hire dynamic people who have a desire to learn. In this fast-paced world, we must train staff quickly and accurately. Tomey's autolensmeters will make it easy for us to do just that. I'll explain how.
The new technology
I tested Tomey's TL-2000A AutoLensmeter in our preliminary testing area and in the verification area. The alignment system guides you to correctly position the lens. The large LCD screen displays lens measurements and the back-illumination and adjustable contrast make the screen visible even in dim rooms, such as our pretesting area. The TL-2000 is also compact.

A pretty progressive instrument
Tomey's TL-2000 and its top-of-the-line TL-3000 feature Auto-Add Lock, which automatically detects progressive lenses, locates the distant point and locks in the add power. The auto mode allows you to automatically retain readings when you properly align the lens, rather than pushing a separate button to save your readings.
The alignment assistance guides make positioning a progressive lens throughout the process simple. The TL-2000 beeps when it detects a progressive and automatically switches to the progressive mode. This ensures an accurate reading of a patient's progressive lens. The instrument lets you read single vision, progressive, lined bifocals and trifocals, high-index lens materials, permeable and soft contact lenses.
The TL-2000 has a wide range of measurement from ±25, 10D of cylinder and up to a +10 add. It accurately measures prism up to 10D. It also measures pupillary distance.
The TL-3000 features an ultraviolet (UV) transmittance index. This feature allows you to instantly detect whether your patient's lenses have the proper UV protection. A vertical bar graph indicates the amount of UV protection and allows you to use the graph to educate patients about the importance of buying UV protection for their sunglasses and for their regular and computer glasses. You can print the results of the autolensmeter with the built-in printer or you can use the RS-232C port to transmit data to your computer system for permanent storage and review.
Staff and patients love it
You and your staff will love the quick learning curve of Tomey's line of autolensmeters. Without special training, your staff will know how to use the lensmeter and will be well versed in using this exciting tool to educate your patients.
One of the most tedious yet important tasks of the day is verifying your patients' finished products from the lens manufacturing process. Tomey's autolensmeters let you quickly and consistently verify work. You can also attach the printout to the job order and use it to show your patients the accuracy of their new glasses.
See what it can do for you
Tomey's autolensmeters will change the way your staff reads glasses and contact lenses. It will also make your day flow more smoothly and will create a high-tech image for your office. Try it out for yourself and see what else it has to offer. Call (800) 358-6639 or visit www.tomey.com for more information.
