This glaucoma screening device fits into a lab coat pocket.

Pocket-sized diagnostic
Quantel Medical introduces a portable pachymeter ideal for glaucoma screening. The Pocket II Precision Pachymeter fits into a lab coat pocket and is powered by four AA batteries, allowing you to move it between exam rooms or take it to another office. It offers a measurement range of 200 µm to 999 µm microns and accuracy of +/­ 5 µm, enabling it to measure corneal thickness in a wide variety of clinical and surgical applications. The Pocket II also records one to 10 measurements and features automatic averaging and a built-in test block.

It's not just an edger
Gerber Coburn's new Titan Pick and Place (PNP) is a robotic pick and place device combined with the company's industrial Titan edger. The Titan PNP is capable of edging all materials (including glass) and offers features such as circumference checking, grooving, pin beveling and polishing options and OMA-compliant software. You can configure it to work with almost any flexible conveyor system, Gerber Coburn says, and it includes a three-foot conveyor. The Titan PNP is targeted at medium to large wholesale labs.
