Lab-friendly material

Paragon Vision Sciences announced that its Paragon HDS 100 material is now available for large-diameter contact lenses. Authorized Paragon laboratories receive the 14mm Paragon HDS 100 large diameter buttons or blanks "collet-ready," (labs use the collet to hold the button in place during the manufacturing process), so they require less modification during the manufacturing process. By limiting the number of modifications the large-diameter button needs, manufacturing precision is increased, Paragon says.

The material is available in clear and Crystal Blue. HDS 100 is approved by the FDA for up to seven days of continuous wear.

How much easier could it be?

I-Concepts Optical, creator of the Just Match-it clip-on program, recently launched its EZ Clip Locator CD. It offers eyecare professionals the ability to use their computer monitor via the new Adjust-A-Ruler Technology to locate a sun clip. By holding a frame over the "on-size" clip image that appears, or printing an "on-size" fitting page, eyecare professionals will be able to view the 96 different clip-on shapes from the Just Match-it collection.
