• PreserVision Eye Vitamin AREDS 2 formula, from Bausch + Lomb, is now available in a smaller soft gel than the original with a b.i.d. dosing — two pills per dose, the company says. The original formulation was voluntarily recalled last July due to concerns regarding the pill's original size. • Transitions XTRActive lenses, from Transitions Optical, Inc, are now available in 1.50 Index and FT-28 bifocal designs. The lenses are for patients who spend a lot of time in bright, sunny conditions and are interested in wearing an everyday, adaptive lens that darkens outdoors and has a slight tint indoors, the company says. • Safigel has signed a distribution agreement with Optical Distributor Group (ODG) for its Safigel 1-Day daily disposable contact lens, which contains sodium hyaluronate. ODG will distribute the lens to eyecare practitioners (ECPs). In addition, ECPs can have ODG ship the lens directly to patients. |
