■ VSP has invited the American Optometric Association (AOA) to participate in an open forum on healthcare reform on May 24 at the St. Louis Airport Marriott. The topic of discussion: Should standalone vision plans be excluded from Insurance Exchanges? VSP answers “no,” it poses a great risk to the access doctors have to patients. AOA answers “yes,” arguing the current healthcare delivery system segregates “vision” from “eye health.” ■ The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) announced it has established ORMatch, the new Optometry Residency Match which replaces the Optometry Residency Matching Service, a program that was administered for more than 30 years by Dr. Charles Haine. The new program will allow ASCO to work directly with the residency community. ■ CareCredit is commemorating its silver anniversary with the “25 Years of Caring Sweepstakes,” which enters patients who are CareCredit cardholders into a drawing for $25,000. Mr. Ogino joins TMS from Topcon Corporation in Tokyo, Japan, and has held many International assignments throughout his career with Topcon. |
