■ Optometry Giving Sight calls on the optometric community to join the global movement to eliminate avoidable blindness by taking the 2012 World Sight Day Challenge this October. Mr. Moro comes to RevitalVision after having most recently served as global director of marketing for the Opti-Free contact lens care business at Alcon. ■ NicOx, an international, late-stage development and commercial ophthalmic group based around therapeutics, diagnostics and devices, announced three appointments in the United States: Jason Menzo has been appointed Director of Marketing and will lead overall marketing strategy. Mark Puwal will lead domestic sales efforts as the National Director of Sales, and Jason Werner has been appointed Director of Commercial Development & Strategic Alliances. ■ Eschenbach is offering a series of one-hour webinars on a variety of low vision topics. For more information on the webinars, which will run through mid-December, click on the upcoming webinars link in the Resource Center for Professionals at www.eschenbach.com. ■ The Student Optometric Leadership Network (SOLN) announced the Practice Management Club of Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) as the first recipient of the Preston Cup, as voted for by SOLN club representatives from 19 schools of optometry. The cup, which is awarded each year to the most deserving SOLN private practice or practice management club, is named after Preston Smith, a fourth-year student at NSUOCO, who was killed in an automobile accident in November 2011. ■ OCuSOFT introduced OCuSOFT Baby, the first eyelid and eyelash cleanser for children.
