Toric lens
■ ASTERA Multifocal Toric, from Alden Optical, is designed for presbyopes who can benefit from custom lens prescriptions or astigmatic correction. Alden Optical partnered with Precilens, a European manufacturer, to incorporate their C2 center-near multifocal optics, which feature large stabilized spherical zones at near and distance. ASTERA Multifocal Toric also features Dual Elliptical Stabilization, which ensures orientation and rotational stability, the company says. The lens is available in custom prescriptions and multiple replacement cycles, as well as without cylinder for spherical wearers who require custom lens prescriptions or designs.

Measurement tool
■ The Lewerenz Accommodation Maddox and Occluder Tool, from Gulden Ophthalmics, can be used to measure the amplitude of accommodation as well as near point of convergence. After testing visual acuities or performing a cover test with the occluder function, O.D.s can keep the Lewerenz tool in hand, pick up the near target, and not have to find or reach for any other device to take measurements. Designed by David Lewerenz, O.D, F.A.A.O., in conjunction with Gulden, the device provides measurements in diopters for accommodation and centimeters for convergence, eliminating the need to convert units.

Orthokeratology lens
■ The iSee Ortho-k lens, from GP Specialists, is an orthokeratology lens design. The iSee corneal reshaping design incorporates a treatment zone that allows practitioners to treat patients who have high degrees of myopia, the company says. The lens is designed to reshape the first few microns of the cornea while the patient sleeps. This slight change in the curvature of the corneal surface results in clear vision during waking hours to reduce the dependence on daytime contact lenses or glasses, the company says.
