■ Doctor alliance group PECAA promoted Chris Millet to CEO. Previously serving as vice president, Mr. Millet will now run the day-to-day operations of the organization.

■ Vision Source announced Glenn D. Ellisor, O.D., will transition from chairman and CEO to executive chairman, and Jim Greenwood will be president and CEO. Dr. Ellisor will continue to lead the company’s board of directors, and Mr. Greenwood will lead the senior team and be responsible for the execution of major strategic plans and investments and initiatives.

■ Essilor International and PPG Industries reached an agreement for Essilor to acquire PPG Industries’ 51% stake in Transitions Optical. Essilor has held a 49% share of Transitions since the joint venture company’s formation in 1990.

■ The new Marshall B. Ketchum University, an expansion of Southern California College of Optometry, announced Allergan will receive the University’s corporate award. Marshall B. Ketchum, M.D., the founder of SCCO, will receive the university’s Founder’s Award.

■ AMO announced it has completed its acquisition of OptiMedica Corporation, maker of Catalys, a femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery system.

■ Eyefinity and Modernizing Medicine (MMI) will integrate Eyefinity’s practice management portfolio with MMI’s cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) solution, resulting in an integrated offering for optometry. The solution offers an adaptive learning engine and an intuitive user interface. Features include native iPad technology, Cloud-based documenting, adaptability to diagnosis style and enhanced communications features.
