It is designed to be cradled between the index finger and thumb with the punctum plug release button positioned beneath the finger. TrueTear, from Allergan, is a handheld neurostimulation device with disposable tips that is inserted into the nasal cavity to induce the production of natural tears. The device provides tiny pulses of energy in the nasal cavity, which have been shown to increase tear production in clinical trials, temporarily improving the state of the ocular surface. ■ OM
