ABBVIE TO PURCHASE ALLERGAN

AbbVie Inc., a North Chicago-based research-driven biopharmaceutical company, will acquire Allergan, reports a company-issued press release.

The combined company will be comprised of many areas, including eye care, hematologic oncology, immunology, medical aesthetics, neuroscience, women’s health and virology, and it will ensure funding capacity and flexibility for debt reduction and simultaneous pipeline investment, according to the AbbVie press release.
