■ A CooperVision-released study reports that after three and six months of starting contact lens wear, 31% say they are likely to cease wear in the next six months, citing handling and comfort issues. ■ Notal Vision released the performance data for it’s NOTAL-OCT V3.0, an at-home patient-operated OCT device. The results show that areas of fluid seen on the OCT’s intra- and subretinal fluid thickness maps correlate to locations of abnormal vessels and leakage areas in AMD patients. The technology is in the process of obtaining FDA clearance.

■ Transitions Academy 2020 hosted more than 1,000 attendees from 40 countries at Orlando’s J.W. Marriott Grande Lakes. Themed “2020 Light It Up,” the 24th annual event featured educational opportunities, such as “Developing and Understanding Your Leadership Brand,” a team-building scavenger hunt, the announcement of additional colors in Signature GEN 8 lenses and XTRActive Polarized Lenses, which, “achieve extra darkness and polarize outdoors in the sun.”
