It’s often said that optometry is both an art and a science. That rings especially true for Jenny Lau, O.D., who practices at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisc. Her self-described “passion project,” OptoStickers, serves as a creative outlet and an asset to her practice.
Dr. Lau launched her line of pediatric eye care stickers in early 2020.
“Over time, I realized that the stickers we provided in my practice were typical — Disney or television characters, or generic designs. I’ve always been artistic, so I knew I could design stickers that were more engaging, relevant and unique,” she says.
When it comes to the patient experience, small details matter, notes Dr. Lau. “Especially for clinics that see pediatric patients — children are much more observant than we give them credit for. They appreciate the artwork and walk out the door with big smiles.”
OptoStickers are available at thejennspirit.com . Dr. Lau plans to release a new series of designs around fall 2021. OM
