InfantSEE, a public health program that offers no-cost, comprehensive eye and vision assessments for infants, held 2 hands-on workshops during Optometry’s Meeting 2025. More than 100 optometry students participated in live examinations alongside experienced doctors of optometry and infant patients.

“These workshops are always buzzing with excitement–having seasoned professionals lead the way with curious infants and their parents keeps the environment fun with just the right amount of real-world experience,” said Jennifer Zolman, OD, InfantSEE & Children’s Vision Committee Chair in a press release.
Managed by The AOA Foundation and supported since its inception by Johnson & Johnson, InfantSEE aims to integrate eye and vision care into infant wellness. Since launching in 2005, the program has grown to 3,800 providers and has conducted over 172,000 assessments.
Charissa Lee, OD, MBA, FAAO, Head of North America Professional Affairs at Johnson & Johnson, noted the importance of the workshops in preparing future providers: “Each workshop offers something new and applicable to conducting infant eye exams, while encouraging students to become providers after graduation,” she said in the press release.
This fall, InfantSEE will expand training opportunities with workshops at Indiana University School of Optometry and University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry for the Midwestern and Western Regional Conferences. Each conference will feature 3 workshops. To reach a broader audience, 3 virtual pop-up workshops will also be offered in September and October via AOA’s EyeLearn platform. Details for the virtual workshops are forthcoming.
