Bausch + Lomb’s Dry Eye Drug Improves Signs and Symptoms Within First 2 Weeks of Use, Study Shows
Bausch + Lomb’s Miebo, a drop for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease (DED), was shown to have significant and meaningful reductions in the severity and frequency of DED symptoms within the first 2 weeks of treatment, according to a study published in Ophthalmology and Therapy. The study was composed of 99 patients (85.9% female; age range 35 to 81 years). Its purpose was to evaluate patient-reported outcomes early in treatment.
Bausch + Lomb Voluntarily Recalls Intraocular Lenses
Bausch + Lomb Corporation voluntarily recalled the intraocular lenses (IOL) on its enVista platform: enVista Aspire, enVista Envy, and certain enVista monofocal IOLs—according to a press release. The recall is in response to reports of toxic anterior segment syndrome in conjunction with the implantation of these IOLs. All impacted patients responded quickly to treatment, and none have required removal of their IOLs, Bausch + Lomb says. The company says it is looking into identifying a root cause.

Harrow’s Injectable Preservative-Free Synthetic Corticosteroid Gets Transitional Pass-Through Reimbursement Status
Harrow announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has approved its transitional pass-through application for the company’s injectable preservative-free synthetic corticosteroid Triesence. Specifically, starting April 1, and for the following 3 years, the injectable will be eligible for separate reimbursement outside of the surgical bundled payment in both the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Hospital Outpatient Department settings of care, according to a press release.
