Zeiss will present a range of digital and AI-enabled platforms at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) annual meeting, which is scheduled for April 10 to 12, 2026, the company noted in a press release. The technology addresses several goals from workflow integration and data connectivity to patient engagement across ophthalmic care settings, in addition to cataract surgical workflow innovations for ophthalmologists.
Zeiss VisioGen is a patient engagement system that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) with human oversight to manage patient communications. This “governed” AI model connects directly to practice websites, allowing patient inquiries to be captured outside of standard office hours and guiding users toward scheduling evaluations. AI responses are then reviewed by Zeiss-trained optometrists before being delivered to patients. According to Zeiss, this structure is intended to maintain clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and appropriate communication standards while enabling continuous patient interaction.
The company is also highlighting Zeiss Collaborative Care, a cloud-based platform that enables secure data sharing and coordination among eyecare providers. The system allows clinicians to refer patients, exchange clinical information, and manage care across different settings. It is powered by the Zeiss Health Data Platform and integrates with Zeiss Forum to support continuity of care and reduce data fragmentation.
Zeiss Clinic 360, a forthcoming browser-based solution designed to aggregate clinical data and provide advanced analytics for ophthalmic workflows, will also be previewed. The platform is pending FDA 510(k) clearance and is not yet commercially available in the United States.
Updates to the Zeiss IOLMaster 700 platform include expanded calculation capabilities through the Kane Suite and enhancements to the Barrett Suite with additional formulas. Additional formulas have also been incorporated into the Zeiss Veracity Surgery Planner, including the Barrett RX formula and the Zeiss AI IOL Calculator. These updates will improve measurement accuracy and support complex clinical scenarios, including post-laser vision correction and toric intraocular lens planning, the company said in the press release.
These technologies will be presented at booth #607 during the ASCRS 2026 meeting in Washington, D.C. OM
